The whole SEE YOU-Team would like to thank more than 250 applying projects from Germany and Europe! The “projects-all-over-europe-button” offers an overview with almost all the projects.  Now we are getting closer and closer to the festival, which makes us very excited to see all the great projects live!

Best wishes

SEE YOU Youth.Culture.Awards.Festival NRW & RUHR.2010

Competition – Encounter – Festival

September 2010 is set to be an exciting time, because that is the month in which the SEE YOU Festival, which is being organised as part of the European Capital of Culture RUHR.2010 events, will be held.

This cross-genre festival of culture and the arts will be taking place on September 16-19 in Dortmund and it will see children and young people from across the entire Ruhr conurbation – as well as from the rest of NRW and Europe – coming together to present the results of their projects. Entrants will not only be displaying their works to each other but also to the general public as well as a special jury. All types of creative activity are welcome: music, dance, theatre, painting, photography, multimedia or visual arts – whatever area you are active in, you can be sure that everyone else will be there to cheer you on.

Over 1,000 young people are expected to join in and present their projects in the area around the “Dortmunder U” and the “Freizeitzentrum West” (FZW). More than a hundred of these projects will involve groups and guest projects from the rest of Europe. It is sure to be great fun for all involved – and entrants even stand a chance of winning one of the great prizes on offer, with a total value of 20,000 euros. In addition to the Youth Culture Award NRW, there is also a separate Children’s Culture Prize as well as the RUHR.2010 Young Europe Award. The closing date for entries to the Competition for the best project ideas is April 30, 2010.

Anyone applying for one of the prizes also has a chance to gain a place on a four-day Workshop and Encounter Programme. More than 300 youngsters from all over Europe will be able to take part in workshops with professional artists, and meet with other people of their own age, to take part in theatre, dance and film making, as they discover the Capital of Culture, discuss their experiences, and enjoy being part of the festival.
